Meet Dr. Chavez

Before establishing her own practice in 2009, Dr. Chavez worked in a group practice from 2000 to 2008. She enjoys all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery and treats patients of all ages. She has a special interest in orthognathic (reconstructive jaw) surgery, cleft palate rehabilitation, and dental implant surgery. Since 2003, she has been a member of the Cleft Palate Team at Children’s Hospital and Clinics in Minneapolis.

Dr. Chavez grew up in Golden, Colorado, and attended the University of Colorado Boulder, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. She then obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Washington in Seattle in 1993 and began her oral surgery training with an internship at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. She graduated from the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training program at the University of Minnesota in 2000.

Dr. Chavez is board certified and a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. She also holds memberships in the Minnesota Dental Association, Minnesota Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, and the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association.
