Anesthesia

Oral Surgery Anesthesia Training You Can Trust

Oral and maxillofacial surgeons receive extensive anesthesia training as part of their residency. Unlike most medical specialties, OMS doctors complete five to six months of hospital-based anesthesia rotations, working directly with anesthesiologists and managing hundreds of anesthesia cases for both adults and children. This includes IV sedation, general anesthesia, airway management, and emergency response.  This advanced preparation makes oral surgeons uniquely qualified to safely provide office-based anesthesia and sedation for oral surgery patients.

Office-Based Anesthesia Safety Is Our First Priority

At our practice, your safety always comes first. Every procedure is supported by a highly trained oral surgeon and a team of DDANCE-trained anesthesia assistants (Drugs, Documentation, Airway, Monitors, Assistance, Emergency Preparedness). Before surgery, we schedule a comprehensive anesthesia consultation to review your medical history, discuss anesthesia options, and make sure you are a good candidate for outpatient anesthesia. If we determine that a hospital or surgery center is the safest setting for your care, we will recommend that approach and coordinate your treatment.

What to Expect with Office-Based Anesthesia
